World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year.
The twenty-seven-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.
In July, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a historic £11m in earnings.
She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.
On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a new level".
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, including the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third time.
