The Red Devils Poised to Secure German Striker Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants

The Women's Super League club are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer away from Bayern Munich.

A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side

The forward, with six months remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 appearances for Germany. Her arrival will be seen as a marquee signing for the Women’s Super League team.

Her exit from Munich has been anticipated after she was seen fighting back tears while thanking the German club’s supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.

It was reported in late December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading forwards. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the transfer have now been completed.

Reliable Goal Threat to Boost the Attack

The 28-year-old’s signing should represent a major boost to United’s forward line. Schüller has been remarkably consistent in front of goal in the Bundesliga.

• Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals.
• She won the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

The acquisition of the German international coincides with a period when United appear to be gathering positive momentum.
