In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content on PS5 topics as a new development. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to engage players with strong games on its key platform.
A pair of titles that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that deviates from typical Ubisoft design with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they tentpole Microsoft studios games that justify the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they were due initially — rendering them ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
