The families of teenagers missing after a devastating inferno at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are enduring an painful wait for confirmed information and pleading for clues about their loved ones publicly.

The blaze devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Confirmed footage show the roof structure igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take an extended period to formally name the fatalities of the disaster, which killed numerous partygoers and hurt another 119.
